What we do

Boroh La-or Pit has a three-fold strategy to enable the church in Cambodia:

  • to establish the values of a good real Cambodian man
  • to help men to live by those values by promoting the creation and development of men's groups
  • to mobilize men and their groups to reach men in their communities with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

We are doing this in 3 ways:

Community Building

Creating communities of men who encourage, support and help each other to become the men that Jesus Christ intends them to be.

CVM has proved that men's groups improve the lives of men; emotionally, spiritually and physically. As a result families see their men become better husbands and fathers.

We encourage churches to start men's groups wherever they will work best; on church premises, in a coffee shop, in a man's home or in the workplace - wherever their men feel comfortable.

Men's Leaders
We are developing a network of men's leaders who come together regularly to have fellowship and teaching. These will provide peer support and promote collaboration as the groups grow and begin to reach out.

Resource Development

Making quality resources that are relevant to the men we are seeking to reach. These are some of our resources, completed or in development:

DVD: Being a Men
6 lessons to show to groups, covering the different roles men perform. They cover; being a Man of Integrity, a Faithful Husband, a Good Father, a Man of a Pure Heart, a Better Brother and Friend. Each lesson has Bible teaching, questions & answers, group discussions and practical applications.

The Journey of a Good Real Man
A series of modules giving guidance on practical issues men face as they grow in their new life. Designed for men's group leaders, they give them basic teaching and ideas about how to lead discussions on subjects such as; self-respect, differences between men and women, drinking alcohol, pornography, respecting parents, planning your life and many more.

More Than Sex
An important book written by Nou Vandeth. It clearly and simply outlines the principles of a successful marriage. It is biblically based but aimed at all men. It examines gender roles and men's expectations of sex once they are married. Practical advice is given on building a successful, satisfying partnership that will last a lifetime.

Church Engagement

Working together with individual churches and other Christian organizations to plan local action to reach men. Meeting with pastors and leadership teams to share the vision and develop local strategies to gather, transform and mobilize men so that their lives are changed

Working together with groups of churches/organizations to achieve community change. Promoting co-ordinated action to act against the causes of the social problems that are damaging Cambodians and their communities.
